trifolia on fhir_256

Important Product Update:

After six years and the support of hundreds of FHIR IGs, we are discontinuing the further development of Trifolia-on-FHIR. The formal sunset of the ToF application will be completed by August 31, 2024.

This decision allows us to reallocate resources to new innovations that align to the needs of the industry and our clients. We are committed to minimizing any disruption in our end users’ operations and will continue to support current users through October 31, 2024. Product support can be accessed here.

Trifolia-on-FHIR keeps you on track with the standard, which would be very difficult manually. It would be difficult (at least for me) to remember all those template details and datatype options. I would not want to author a CDA® or FHIR IG without it.

Brian Reinhold

Trifolia-on-FHIR simplifies creating FHIR Implementation Guides in many ways. I can quickly and easily implement technically complicated features, such as slicing along with importing VSAC value sets for instant use in a profile. My favorite feature, hands down, is its seamless integration with the most up-to-date IG publisher.

Sarah Gaunt, Lantana

Trifolia-on-FHIR is a powerful tool for standards designers. It makes a complex, highly technical task more manageable and fosters greater consistency across implementation guides. ToF produces IGs that feed directly into the HL7 balloting process, which simplifies ballot submission and publishing.

Lisa Nelson, Max MD

Profile Editor

Users can import value sets from the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC), from a spreadsheet, or build new value sets one value at a time using the ToF value set editor. Value sets are reusable across multiple implementation guides.

INTEGRATION WITH TERMINOLOGY SERVICES

Users can import value sets from the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC), from a spreadsheet, or build new value sets one value at a time using the ToF value set editor. Value sets are reusable across multiple implementation guides.

Import/Export

ToF can import examples and instances of every published FHIR resource and can export artifacts as:

  • An HTML IG Publisher package for publishing the implementation guide via the FHIR IG Publisher.
  • An XML Bundle of resources to back-up the implementation guide or import it into a different installation of ToF or a FHIR server directly.
  • Full implementation guides, which you can import into ToF and extend profiles.

Permissions Management

All resources support permissions management which define who can view and edit. Users can also define implementation guide permissions to grant access. Users with permission to view an implementation guide can reuse it.

Publishing

ToF uses the HL7 FHIR IG Publisher to convert FHIR conformance resources (ImplementationGuide, StructureDefinition, ValueSet, etc.) into HTML pages. Publishing structures the resources and adds the information required to run the HL7 FHIR IG Publisher which is integrated into the application so that you can view your published IG directly. Unlike the HL7 FHIR IG Publisher, ToF saves the latest published implementation guide, so no need to rebuild after signing out.
