Profiling FHIR
High-level overview of FHIR, why it was developed, the use cases it serves, and the technologies and paradigms it

Navigating the FHIR specification, where to find it, how it is organized, etc., followed by details on resources, the FHIR REST API, FHIR documents, etc.
Exercise: Using the FHIR REST API to create and read resources.

Overview of FHIR IGs, what they are, how they are organized, etc., followed by an overview of some key US Realm IGs such as US Core, C-CDA on FHIR, and Da Vinci IGs, along with the uses cases they address.

What FHIR profiles are and why they are needed, key profiling tasks such as changing cardinality, terminology binding, slicing, etc., followed by details on the conformance resources used in FHIR profiling such as StructureDefinition, ValueSet, ImplementationGuide, and related resources such as CapabilityStatement.
Exercise: Creating a simple profile using Trifolia-on-FHIR

Closing
Review the results of the previous exercise with discussion of common issues found while creating IGs, how to review and correct issues in the IG Publisher QA logs (build errors, broken links, etc.), and workarounds (when the CI build is not working or when the latest IG publisher has bugs).
Demonstration: How to manually edit conformance resources to work around issues in tools.

Wrap-up of course materials, discuss parking lot issues, and address final questions
